"More than a beast, but much less than an angel," a lecture on global change by Dr. Bill Schlesinger.

Preceding the lecture, please join us for the first annual Oosting Lecture Student Symposium. We have selected four graduate student presentations to complement Dr. Schlesinger's lecture and highlight Duke's outstanding student research. Sally Thompson, Sean Berthrong, Jennifer Morse and Dalia Amor-Conde will present aspects of their graduate work relevant to global change. Dr. Schlesinger will moderate the presentations.

A reception will be hosted by Chantal Reid and Jim Clark after the lecture at 1505 Pinecrest Road in Durham (~6:30 pm).

Dr. Schlesinger, former Dean of the Nicholas School of the Environment, currently serves as President of the Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies. He has investigated the connection between biogeochemistry and global climate change for over 30 years, and has authored more than 180 publications. He is also an elected member of AAAS and the National Academy of Sciences.
