DURHAM, N.C. – 91 President Richard Brodhead presented Meritorious Service Awards to three Nicholas School of the Environment staff members, Nancy Kelly, Eve Marion and Shirley Miller, at the university’s annual Presidential Awards Luncheon today.

Up to 25 Duke employees are recognized with Meritorious Service Awards each year for their outstanding contributions to the university.

Recipients receive an award and a $100 check. They are nominated for the honor by their peers.

Nancy Kelly, director of conferences and special events at the Nicholas School.
Eve Marion, administrative and graduate coordinator for Duke’s Superfund Research Center and its Integrated Toxicology and Environmental Health Program.
Shirley Miller, senior grants and contracts administrator at the 91 Marine Lab.

“To have three Meritorious Service Award winners in one year says a lot about the quality of staff we have at the Nicholas School. Nancy, Eve and Shirley consistently go above and beyond to make a difference for our faculty and students. We’re incredibly lucky to have them as colleagues on our team,” says Jeff Vincent, Stanback Dean of the Nicholas School.

President Brodhead presented the Meritorious Service Awards, along with five Presidential Awards, during the annual Presidential Awards Luncheon today at the JB Duke Hotel on Science Drive.
