What is your previous work experience?

After serving a 4-year enlistment as an Airborne Intelligence Sergeant in the heralded 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Liberty, NC, I transitioned to supporting HUMINT operations in the Joint Special Operations Community as a civilian. None of this sufficiently prepared me for parenthood.

Why did you choose the Nicholas School?

I chose the Nicholas School for its outstanding reputation and outstanding Dean. I needed congruency between my values, ethics, and philosophies and those of my chosen institution; Duke offered that. The Nicholas School marries science, professional acumen, and student ambition to the betterment of our environment. I'm happy I chose the Nicholas School.

What are you looking forward to as an incoming Nicholas School student?

I'm most looking forward to developing camaraderie and community. I hope to graduate from Duke with more than a phenomenal education, but also a powerful network of friends and allies.

Do you have any areas of interest or special focus you will undertake during your time at the Nicholas School?

I hope to study methods for promoting sustainable business practices, including augmenting the popularity of the limited profit/ benefit corporate models. Additionally, I aim to grow a more pronounced academic infrastructure for studying sustainable business practices in concert with successful organizations, drawing from existing business success and wisdom.

What are your current career aspirations?

To demonstrate the viability of change. I don't need to leave the world in perfect condition, just better than I found it.
