What is your previous work experience?
I was as a Conservation Fellow at the Open Space Institute, based in New York. I played a key role in furthering OSI鈥檚 Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Plan across all programs through research, communication products, grant writing, and input into organizational strategies to create equitable partnerships with diverse groups who have not traditionally been included in land conservation work.
Why did you choose the Nicholas School?
I chose the Nicholas School because I was ready to be a part of a community who care for the environment in a multitude of ways, to learn and grow with them, personally, professionally and academically. I was ready to be pushed to be a better communicator, analyzer and researcher of environmental economic, policy and justice, and believed the Nicholas School would do just that.
What are you looking forward to as an incoming Nicholas School student?
I'm most looking forward to being back in a space where people are excited to learn and solve problems, as well as delve deeply into my classes, grow meaningful relationships with my fellow environmentalists and learning from my professors.
Do you have any areas of interest or special focus you will undertake during your time at the Nicholas School?
My interests include analyzing the economic consequences of climate change as well as how to justly finance the energy transition, with a focus on offshore renewable energy, emerging markets and developing economies as well as the unjust climate change impacts on the Global South.
What are your current career aspirations?
I'd love to work in the energy field, analyzing and creating policy that will allow for a just clean energy transition, ensuring that the most overburdened and vulnerable communities are prioritized through engaging with communities, and understanding their needs.
